EuraCreative

Innovation & creative business

It is Europe’s leading hub for the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), located in the Union zone, a district in the midst of renewal between Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos.

The Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) include theaudiovisual (cinema, animated films, special effects, etc.), gaming (video games, serious games, gamification, etc.), music (materials, distribution, rights management, etc.), live performance (production, distribution, major events, etc.) and design sectors.

The EuraCreative campus covers 80 hectares and includes a host of facilities. From coworking spaces to production studios, meeting rooms and research laboratories, every element is designed to encourage creativity and collaborative working. The site is also home to two regional umbrella organisations: Pictanovo for film and animation, and Game IN for video games.

So EuraCreative is much more than just a place to work. It’s a real crossroads where multi-disciplinary talent converges. Today, there are almost 2,000 developers, designers, artists, entrepreneurs, researchers and many other players in the creative industries on the site. This site of excellence brings together more than 150 companies specialising in games, audiovisual, AR/VR, design, musictech, web development, events, edtech, serious games, e-learning, video games, animation, media, publishing, etc.

A 360° service offering

EuraCreative offers tailor-made support to companies and project leaders.

  • Business: from setting up a new company to conquering international markets, and including contacts with prime contractors.
  • Innovation: from monitoring to developing synergies between research and the creative industry.
  • Finance: from financing productions in constant liaison with Pictanovo, to financing company growth through a network of dedicated financial partners.
  • Talent: training, recruitment, skills support.
  • Infrastructure: studios, technical equipment, adapted collaborative spaces, etc.
A hub for training and research

In addition to its role as a business incubator, EuraCreative is also a training and research hub. In partnership with universities, schools and research centres, the cluster offers specialised training programmes in the fields of cinema, 3D animation, special effects and design, helping to train the next generation of experts in all sectors of the creative industries.

Some of the biggest names in training are already here or will be joining soon: ArtFx has opened its campus on more than 16,000m², accommodating nearly 1,000 students. Piktura (formerly Pôle 3D) has also decided to relocate its site to Plaine images. Now it’s Rubika’ s turn to strengthen the site with the imminent arrival of a training centre dedicated to design.

Our ambition is clear: to position the region as a leading CCI in Europe and the world over the long term.

Concrete achievements

Over the years, EuraCreative has seen many successful projects emerge. Whether in video games, virtual reality, animation, film, advertising or e-commerce, the companies and start-ups incubated within the cluster have stood out for their creativity, expertise and capacity for innovation.

One of the site’s driving forces is Ankama, a leader in digital creation and video games. The company is responsible for Dofus, an online game that has enjoyed worldwide success (85 million accounts created worldwide), as well as a whole series of other games for PC, consoles and mobiles. Complementing Ankama, Lylo Media Group, a giant in dubbing, subtitling and audio-description, has also set up its studios at Plaine Images.

The metropolitan nugget, which will be acquired by the American company Transperfect in 2019, works for TV, film and video games, transferring cartoons and series from one language to another.

Another nugget based at EuraCreative is the guided meditation app Petit Bambou, which has more than 4.7 million users.

A venue for major events

EuraCreative hosts two major national and international events.

PIX: The PIX Forum is designed to bring together and highlight the key players in the animation, film and audiovisual industries, focusing on innovation, creativity and new trends in the sector. The event offers a unique opportunity to meet industry professionals, exchange ideas, discover the latest technologies and take part in conferences, workshops and film screenings.

Game Camp: Run by the Game IN association, this two-day event in June brings together video game enthusiasts and professionals. On the programme: tournaments, game demos, conferences and meetings with developers. It’s a unique opportunity to discover the latest trends, preview games and celebrate the creativity of the video games industry.
