A benchmark in remote monitoring in Europe

Founded in Norway in 1995, Sector Alarm has rapidly established itself as one of Europe’s leading remote surveillance companies. With a strong presence in various Scandinavian countries as well as Ireland, Spain, Italy and Portugal, the company set up operations in France in 2019, strengthening its position in the European market.

Its extensive expertise encompasses four key areas for ensuring the safety of people and property: fire risk prevention, emergency management, burglary protection and squatter detection.

With a customer base mainly made up of private individuals (85%), Sector Alarm also offers solutions tailored to the needs of professionals.

Having established its French headquarters in Massy, near Paris, Sector Alarm is now pursuing a strategy of dynamic expansion across the country by opening sales offices in every region.

Villeneuve d'Ascq: first site in the Hauts-de-France region

Marking its arrival in the Hauts-de-France region, Sector Alarm has chosen Villeneuve d’Ascq as the location for its first sales office. This is just the first step in a series of branch openings planned throughout the region.

The choice of Villeneuve d’Ascq was not made by chance. Its proximity to Lille, the vibrant heart of the region, and its accessibility make it a strategic location. Aware that the details can sometimes make all the difference, the company made a point of selecting a site that was accessible and had plenty of parking spaces, both essential factors in facilitating recruitment.
In addition, Sector Alarm’s proximity to Lille and its talent pool is an added advantage, enabling the company to draw on a diverse pool of skills, from sales representatives to technicians and managers.
To make its choice, Sector Alarm undertook an in-depth geomarketing study. This assessed the region’s demographic potential and recruitment prospects. These analyses confirmed the viability of the market and ensured that the terrain was conducive to healthy and stimulating competition, particularly in terms of recruitment.

The choice of Villeneuve d’Ascq is part of a strategic development vision that places the Hauts-de-France region at the heart of Sector Alarm’s ambitions.

A major mobilisation of employment players

Setting up a business in a new region is often a major challenge, and Sector Alarm was no exception. However, with tailored support from the Invest team, the recruitment process went smoothly. By joining forces with key local employment players such as Pôle Emploi, Proch’emploi, Maison de l’Emploi and APEC, an effective synergy was created to meet the company’s specific needs.

The fruit of this collaboration was a collective recruitment session, held on the company’s new premises. The initiative paid off, as Nicolas Evenisse, Expansion Manager France, points out: “Out of 30 applications received, 23 were submitted and 11 candidates were recruited. That’s a very good conversion rate”. And that’s just the beginning. In the medium term, the agency’s ambition is to have between 40 and 50 sales people on its payroll.

Sector Alarm takes an innovative and inclusive approach to recruitment: no CVs and no standard profiles. What the company is looking for above all are motivated and resilient people, regardless of the candidates’ academic background or professional experience. It is in this spirit of openness that the company has its own sales school, open to all.

Since its launch in February 2023, Sector Alarm’s new sales office has had time to make its mark, and the future looks bright, as Nicolas Evenisse points out: “The welcome in Hauts-de-France has been very warm. I’m convinced that the agency will quickly become a major pillar of Sector Alarm’s growth in France.
