Enaos, a Belgian company pioneering the provision of support to the funeral industry and bereaved families, is opening a brand new office in Lille. After a successful experience in Belgium and the opening of its first office in Charleville-Mézières, Enaos has now chosen Lille to strengthen its presence and ambitions. It’s a wise choice, part of a promising growth strategy that’s in line with the needs of a fast-changing sector!

An innovative company in a fast-changing sector

For 25 years, Enaos has been developing the first digital platform dedicated to funeral directors. Its aim is to make it easier to manage funerals and support families with high-performance digital tools and a deeply human service. Integrated into the practices of funeral professionals, this solution offers essential services such as website creation, condolence spaces, digital safes and post-obsequies administrative management. By combining technology and human expertise, the company offers bereaved families the time and space they need to honour the memory of their deceased.

In 2023, Enaos extended its range of services to include estate planning. Thanks to a team of fifty specialist lawyers, it now helps families to manage the closure of policies, survivors’ pensions and the transfer of assets.

Today, Enaos works with more than 550 funeral partners and continues to expand. With a team of 75 employees, the company has three strategic locations: Brussels, Charleville-Mézières and, more recently, Lille, where it has opened a new office to strengthen its presence in France and support its partners as closely as possible.

Why Lille?

The similarity of administrative procedures between France and Belgium made it easy to extend Enaos’ solutions to the French market. Already established in Douzy (near Charleville-Mézières), Lille was quickly chosen as the ideal location, thanks to the many advantages the city has to offer. Its strategic geographical location at the heart of Europe, its connectivity with Brussels, as well as its economic dynamism and talent pool made Lille an ideal destination to support the company’s growth.

Its tech ecosystem is another major asset for Enaos, which will be able to draw on its many local partners to strengthen its position in the French market and accelerate its growth nationwide.

Tailor-made support for setting up

Enaos’ arrival in Lille was made possible thanks to tailor-made support from the Pôle Invest d’Lille, following an initial contact with Nord France Invest.

The energy deployed was extraordinary. After an initial assessment of our needs, we were really taken by the hand when it came to looking for office space.

says Boris De Vleeschouwer, co-founder of Enaos.

Thanks to the network of Sophie Dupont, who was in charge of the project, Enaos was able to visit several coworking spaces suited to its flexibility needs and growth prospects. “All I had to do was choose,” adds Boris.

Among the spaces visited, Enaos explored options offered by Hello Lille partners such as Flex-O Lille Europe, Wojo Lille – Centre , Startway Lille Europe , Hiptown, Now Coworking and Le Shake. These partners all responded quickly, even in the middle of August, to organise visits and provide commercial proposals. The support provided by Hello Lille enabled Enaos to benefit from exemplary responsiveness and solutions tailored to the development prospects envisaged.

After a day of visits, the final choice was a space in the offices of La Voix du Nord, right in the heart of Lille. The site is ideally located, offering Enaos the flexibility its teams need while also being perfectly positioned to attract local talent.

Easier recruitment

As well as looking for office space, Enaos has benefited from the invaluable support of Hello Lille’s HR partners in its recruitment efforts. Apec and Proch’Emploi played a key role in the selection process for the first candidates. “The efficiency of Hello Lille’s partners was remarkable. In less than a week, we received several high-quality applications,” explains Boris De Vleeschouwer. This responsiveness enabled Enaos to start its recruitment on a solid footing, with profiles perfectly suited to its needs. Proch’Emploi organised a pre-selection of profiles followed by a professional speed-dating, enabling Enaos to meet around fifteen candidates in a single day.
In addition, Enaos worked closely with Apec to co-write certain job offers, ensuring that they were perfectly aligned with the company’s expectations and those of the candidates. “The involvement of public bodies in our project was impressive. Everyone has been able to identify our needs and respond very effectively”, adds Boris.

Promising growth prospects in Lille

With the opening of its Lille office, Enaos has ambitious growth prospects. The company plans to recruit around twenty more people by 2025 and to have a team of around one hundred employees in Lille within the next four years. “Lille will be one of the strong points of our development in France”, concludes Boris De Vleeschouwer. A great adventure that’s only just begun!
